Fast bi-optic scanning with low power consumption

The Datalogic Magellan 9550i reads retail 1D and 2D barcodes, including GS1 Digital Link codes, through horizontal and vertical windows. Its familiar in-counter form factor supports existing checkout techniques, with scanner-only, adaptive-scale-ready and integrated scanner/scale configurations.

In the Box

Magellan 9550i with the selected platter, produce rail and mounting style
USB or RS-232 cable only when specified by the selected model
Power supply and regional cord only on packages that list them; USB POT kits require a compatible powered USB host
Scale display or color camera only on configurations explicitly marked with those features

Scanner-only and adaptive-scale-ready models do not include an integrated scale. Power and interface cables are sold separately on cableless configurations. Model 957011001-00512 includes an Italy/Chile power cord. Images and video may show optional equipment.

Faster barcode reading, lower energy use

Datalogic testing found 2D reading 45% faster than the Magellan 9400i. Eco mode reduces nominal operating power to 2.6 W, helping busy checkout lanes save energy while reading printed and mobile-screen codes.

Support accurate weighing and loss prevention

The All-Weighs platter extends the weighing surface to the bonnet for bulky produce. Optional color-camera configurations capture images for workflows such as produce recognition when connected to an external PC running suitable AI software.

Model selection glossary

Platter length: The scanning surface length. Choose a size that fits the counter cutout; available sizes vary by model.

Shelf / flange mount: Shelf mount rests on support below the scanner. Flange mount hangs from brackets resting in countertop recesses.

Produce rail: Supports bulky items above the surrounding counter while weighing. Fixed stays raised; flip-up is movable; flush/no rail has no raised rail. A rail does not include a scale.

Scanner only / scanner-scale: Scanner only reads barcodes; scanner-scale also includes a weighing mechanism. A weight display may be separate.

Adaptive-scale-ready: Designed to accept a compatible third-party scale. The scale and integration hardware are separate.

Scale display: The separate weight readout. No display included does not mean no scale is included.

Color camera: Captures item images for supported applications, such as produce recognition. Compatible processing hardware and software are required.

USB Type-A / RS-232: USB or serial connection to the POS. Cable, host connection and POS software must be compatible.

USB POT: Power Off Terminal: requires a compatible powered USB connection. An ordinary USB-A port may not power the scanner.

Power / cable separate: The power supply powers the scanner; the interface cable connects to the POS. Separate means that item is not included.

Regional configuration: Scale settings and power-cord type are separate. This page includes US and Italy/Chile power packages; choose the package for your installation.

Single interval: Uses one weighing increment across the scale’s rated range.
